Job description
Arbour Volkswagen, in business for over 50 years, is looking for a Yard and Maintenance Attendant.
We are looking for dynamic candidates who want to work as part of a team.
SCHEDULE:
- Monday to Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m;
- Fridays, from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m;
- 32 hours per week;
- Possibility of working up to 40 hours if required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Greet service department customers from 7 a.m. to 9:30/10 a.m;
- Check and place new cars in the main yard and storage lots;
- Receive vehicles;
- Check daily replacement vehicles - if damaged, report to management (take photos of damage and park vehicle on side, e-mail photos, damage and serial or stock number);
- Identify vehicles in yard and storage;
- Make sure no customer vehicles block the entrances in the morning;
- Check night key box for envelope and return to service department;
- Identify customer vehicles handed in overnight with a card;
- Transfer returned rental vehicles to storage if necessary;
- Ensure that no license plates are on return vehicles;
- Ensure plates are destroyed before storing rental returns;
- Ensure that customer parking lots are not congested in the morning or throughout your schedule. If necessary, move company or courtesy vehicles;
- Make dealer exchanges when necessary, see the Sales Manager every day;
- Update the storage tables (excel) in the file. Share with all travellers;
- Deliver or pick up parts when urgently needed;
- See to the exterior cleanliness of the facility. Check promotional flags and signs. Make sure they are removed when the promotion ends;
- Empty outdoor ashtrays weekly;
- Remove snow from vehicles in winter;
- Carry out various repairs, or advise if work needs to be done (plumbing, electricity, etc.);
- Maintenance of service and showroom floors, as needed, if not in the cleaning company's schedule;
- Take the rebus out of the mechanical workshop every week or as needed;
- Ensure that test drive vehicles are in the same place, fueled and clean. Notify department if certain vehicles require a quick wash;
- Perform any other related duties.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working for a car dealership;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Smiling and polite;
- Autonomous and available.
Salary may vary according to experience, from $22 to $24 per hour.
