Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, the Assistant will help the team close their transactions. He/she ensures that gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standards are met. This person assists the Sales Manager with administrative tasks. The main tasks are listed below, but the incumbent may be assigned to other duties.

Sales-related tasks:

- Greet customers, determine their needs and advise them appropriately (sell);
- Play a key role in closing sales and delivering vehicles (if applicable);
- Actively participate in closing customer transactions, play an influential role and approve sales;
- Maintain ongoing, personalized contact with customers and prospects, and ensure that sales consultants do the same;
- Promote the dealership's policies regarding the promotion and quality of customer service;
- Monitor new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits for customers.

Tasks related to team management:

- Track data, complete various tables and generate sales-related reports;
- Work with the Sales Manager to achieve the dealership's sales objectives;
- Participate in the induction, training and evaluation of employees making up the vehicle sales team;
- Write reports on the progress made by trainees or new sales advisors during their training and probation periods;
- Support the entire sales team in administrative tasks such as contract follow-up, internet publications, preparation of sales documents and inventory updates.

Tasks related to inventory management:

- Collaborate on vehicle exchanges between dealerships;
- Ensure that vehicles and the yard are in impeccable condition to convey a brand image to customers;
- Carry out a visual assessment of vehicles that are taken back in exchange for the purchase of a new vehicle.

Miscellaneous tasks:

- Respond to several customers simultaneously during busy periods;
- Participate in ongoing training activities on sales, customer service and product offerings;
- Be familiar with the automotive market in Quebec and in the region.

Academic background and previous experience:

- 2 years' experience as a sales assistant;
- Spoken and written languages: French and English.

Knowledge of products, services and warranties offered by the company:

- Product knowledge: strong knowledge of motor vehicles (makes, models, etc.);
- Service knowledge: general knowledge of mechanics (an asset);
- Warranty knowledge: general knowledge of manufacturers' warranties;
- Knowledge of rules, policies, laws and standards.

The nature of the duties and responsibilities of the job requires a general knowledge of the rules, policies, procedures and laws of the automotive industry and the OPC (Office de la protection du consommateur).

Knowledge of computer software:

- Duties require knowledge of the basic functions of one or more software programs: Merlin / SERTI, Outlook, Activix, Word and Excel.
