Why we need you

As the General Manager at Downtown AutoGroup, your role is to ensure the overall success and growth of the dealership by overseeing the Sales & Service Departments and driving exceptional Guest Experience. You'll be responsible for leading, coaching, and motivating a team of Sales & Service Team professionals, Financial Services Managers and Product Advisors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. Your strategic vision and strong data-driven decision-making skills will help set the direction that maximizes value for our Guests. You have strong leadership skills, are a strategic thinker, and have a deep understanding of the automotive market.

This role demands a strategic leader with exceptional management skills, a thorough understanding of the automotive industry, and a proven track record of driving performance and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your strategic insight and strong leadership skills will be essential in leading the teams, optimizing processes and inventory management strategies, and ensuring the achievement of overall dealership goals. You will collaborate closely to create a seamless and exceptional experience for every guest, every time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leadership & Management:
 

  • Oversee daily operations of the dealership, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of all departments.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage department heads to ensure alignment with dealership goals and standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.


Sales & Revenue Growth:
 

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to drive growth.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.


Customer Service Excellence:
 

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by maintaining superior service standards across all departments.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance customer loyalty and retention.


Financial Management:
 

  • Manage the dealership's budget, financial performance, and profitability, including revenue, expenses, and cost control.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports and performance metrics to the owner/director.
  • Implement financial strategies and policies to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.


Operational Efficiency:
 

  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and effective management of automotive parts and vehicles.
  • Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.


Marketing & Business Development:
 

  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to drive traffic and increase market share.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance dealership visibility and brand reputation.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand dealership reach.


Compliance & Safety:
 

  • Ensure the dealership operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.


You need these qualifications
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior management role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive sales, service, and parts operations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and managing financial performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and performance metrics effectively.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
