JOB RESPONSIBILITES: 
 

  • Responsible for performing various tasks to set up, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on concerning dues and/or presses
  • Ability to complete a die change and set (automatic and conventional presses).
  • Safely meet or exceed production, quality and delivery outputs as prescribed by established SWI's
  • Complete Pre-Shift Press Safety Inspection ensuring compliance with all required Health and Safety procedures.
  • Perform minor repairs to stamped components rejected from the presses.
  • Assist in Engineering changes and die buy offs
  • Complete reports on production and quality as required.
  • Check stamped components for defects and conformance of specs, visually or using sample models and instruments.
  • Occasionally trim, grind or clean products into final form using hand tools.
  • Able to react and adjust to production schedules.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Support and promote Organization's Kaizans at all times.
  • Clean work areas and equipment in keeping with 5's and Kaizen programs.
  • Communicate all situations and findings to your Supervisor immediately.
  • Monitor quality and provide timely feedback including the undertaking of corrective action and the completion of appropriate quality, production and material related reports (scrap, rejects and quarantine parts).
  • Report and respond to production stops and taking the appropriate action with the Supervisor to correct line problems as related to the process and equipment.
  • Performing other duties as required from time to time by your Manager/Supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 
 

  • Must maintain professionalism when dealing with others.
  • Must be well organized and be able to prioritize tasks.
  • May require hours in excess of a "Normal Shift" when necessary to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking and bending, must be capable of lifting 30lbs repetitively over the course of an 8-hour shift.
  • Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and on occasion lubricants.

  • Responsible to adhere to all IATF 16946 / Quality policies and procedures
  • Understand that Quality is EVERYONES responsibility
  • Prevent quality issues from happening either by not starting the process or by stopping it before a nonconformity has occurred.
  • Escalate Quality Issues immediately to my Supervisor or Manager - STOP, CONTAIN & REPORT
  • Attend all Quality training deemed required by Organization


SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING: 
 

  • Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
  • Follow and ensure the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
  • Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to the safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that your Department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
  • Responsible to adhere to all Environmental Program ISO 14001 elements and attend training for same. Act in accordance to all Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.


Requirements
 

  • Grade 12 education or College Graduate.
  • Previous automated press experience (blanking and progressive dies).
  • Good communication skills both written and oral.
