POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for Engineering Project Coordination in support of production contracts and sales opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 
• Serve as primary technical correspondent and Engineering representative for production contracts and sales opportunities.
• Support bids process from initial proposals through production, including change requests and configuration audits.
• Identify, define, and manage technical configuration requirements and clearly communicate details to customers and internal stakeholders. Ensure all technical specifications are addressed prior to bid submission.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities. Independently develop strategies to mitigate risks and action opportunities.
• Release initial Bill of Material (iBoMs) needed to build heavy duty transit buses and coaches for a wide range of customer specifications. Provide BoM status reports to Management.
• Effectively manage and present project documentation.
• Assign tasks to Engineering designers to complete contract-specific design work. 
• Actively contribute or lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Serve as checker for Engineering change orders (ECOs) prior to release.

Travel: <25% dependent on specific project responsibilities. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
• Knowledge of Engineering Design and Project Management.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
• Experience with enterprise database software and engineering product lifecycle management systems considered an asset
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts.
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• General office activities, including climbing stairs and driving.
