Job description

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent Position

Schedule: 7-days on, 7-days off rotation with 12-hour workdays

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Adhere to Conuma's workplace policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled health, safety, and environmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Clean mobile equipment in preparation for the maintenance team in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fuel, lube, and grease field equipment, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic service on equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other routine maintenance procedures.
  • Lubricate running gears or moving parts of trucks and heavy equipment to minimize wear and ensure smooth operation.
  • Grease booms, pulleys, buckets, and other components of heavy equipment as needed for optimal functionality.
  • Provide on-site services to mobile equipment, responding promptly to maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all services performed on each piece of equipment, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with members of the Maintenance crew as required, fostering effective teamwork.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.


Education, Experience & Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Previous experience in a laborer or similar role is essential.
  • Preferred previous experience working in a maintenance, welding, or mechanical environment, which would provide valuable background knowledge.
  • Air Brakes training is considered an asset.


Technical Competencies & Skills

 

  • Strong english communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Versatility to work both in a shop and field environment as needed.
  • Physical fitness to perform labor-intensive tasks, including working at heights.
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively, whether through radio communication, spoken word, or hand signals.
  • A proven record of safety consciousness and punctuality.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to various work conditions.
  • Understanding of mining processes and mine monitoring control systems (operations and maintenance).
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance systems.
