About the opportunity...

As an integral part of the "we can do that" operation, this position is responsible to:
 

  • Communicate to internal stakeholders Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
  • Post Jobs, Perform interviews, screens, and recruit for entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  • Ensure the competency of applicants to job positions.
  • Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a positive relationship with insurance providers.
  • Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
  • Act as representative for unemployment claims.
  • Administer onboarding, orientation and training within the organization.
  • Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions.
  • Prepare and issue position documentation, and evaluation system.
  • Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes.
  • Provide research as requested.
  • Plan, organize and attend recruitment fairs as requested.
  • Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities.
  • Coordinate and update intranet site.
  • Keep job descriptions current.
  • Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in person.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.


About you...

Ideal candidates will have:
 

  • Post Secondary Human Resources Management Education required
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in HR generalist role is required
  • Work experience in recruitment, talentnest preferred
  • Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred
  • Data analysis skills required
  • Basic research skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, legislation and policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Superior computer skills, telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent typing skills, including proper spelling and grammar
  • Presentation skills required
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to adapt and learn fast
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key external stakeholders
