We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Fort McMurray, AB.

You will make an impact in the following ways: 
 

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools


Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: 

(Intermediate): 
 

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision


(Advanced): 
 

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation


Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
Apprentice Trained Power Generation and/or Engine Technician (Preferred) 
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution 
Current relevant electrical certification (optional) 
Locally valid driving permit. 
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 

Experience: 
Minimal level of workshop related experience required. 
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with Cummins products 
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)

Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Qualifications

 

  • This is a KMC FIFO position
  • Options for 7x7 or 14x14 shift
  • Rotational days/nights, inclusive of nightshift requirements at the discretion of business needs
  • As a mining technician, you will be required to complete local branch assignments and assignments offsite at client or other locations, which may be remote areas that require you to fly in fly out. It is an express term of your employment that your location of work will vary and may change day to day to meet customer demands.
  • This position requires you to work outside in both hot and cold temps
  • Service vehicle and tooling are provided
