Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Yard Manager to oversee all tools, equipment, materials, and logistics in our landscape construction yard. This role combines office administration and hands-on yard management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment operation and maintenance, materials production, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage, maintain, and track all tools and equipment in the yard.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance of equipment such as skid steers, front-end loaders, trucks with air brakes, and excavators.
  • Oversee soil and mulch production, ensuring quality standards and inventory management.
  • Schedule and coordinate equipment delivery, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Train staff on equipment usage and safety protocols.
  • Keep the yard clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Use software for equipment tracking and reporting.
  • Communicate with construction and maintenance teams to meet equipment and material needs.


Qualifications:
 

  • 5 years of experience in yard or warehouse management, preferably in landscaping , construction or other related field.
  • Proficient in operating skid steers, small loaders, trucks , and other equipment.
  • Strong skills in equipment tracking software and Office 365.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills across teams.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license. Air brake endorsement is an asset.


Working Conditions:
 

  • A mix of office and yard work, including scheduling, coordinating equipment maintenance, and logistics.
  • Handling heavy loads up to 23 kg, standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Operating trucks and landscape equipment in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, hazardous materials, and other landscaping-related hazards.

  • Monday to Friday 7:30 to 4pm
