In this position, you'll often be the first person our Members see when they need help. As part of an amazing network of 100 Road Assist team members, you'll share your genuine passion for helping others by providing friendly and professional roadside mechanical assistance or towing services to members of BCAA and affiliated clubs.
We are currently hiring a Temporary Full-Time Fleet Mechanic Apprentice (Level 1) based in our Burnaby Depot. This is a 6 month contract.
As a Fleet Mechanic Apprentice you are part of the team that keeps BCAA fleet vehicles in good repair as they travel across British Columbia serving the needs of our Members. In addition to working on vehicles, you'll be upholding BCAA safety and environmental standards and developing your skills through courses and learning from team members around you.

What you'll do
- Diagnose and repair BCAA tow and service vehicles and related equipment.
- Ensure safety and compliance with all Fleet maintenance criteria.
- Continually improve your skill set, fulfilling the requirements of the Red Seal training program while maintaining a passing grade in the apprenticeship program.
What you bring
- Completion of Automotive Provincial Apprenticeship level exams.
- Completion of Upgrade Training of current automotive technologies, with a focus on OBD-II courses.
- One to four years of technical experience within an automotive repair facility.
- Ability to lift 90 lbs, bend, reach, walk and stand for long periods of time
- Experience with welding and fabricating with steel and aluminum
- Proficiency with MS Outlook and modern scan tools
- A clean BC Driver License Class 5 or better

The hourly range for this position is $23.29 to $29.11 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
