Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for communicating with DeHavilland and/or Embraer to keep up to date with ongoing or emerging technical issues on the Dash 8-400 and E195-E2 in Porter's Fleet. They will also work closely with Porter's In-House Reliability Team to develop MRB programs to enhance aircraft availability and reliability. 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Liaise with DeHavilland and Embraer as well as other OEM's when technical issues arise
  • Assist Production with technical queries
  • Monitor fleet and individual aircraft for recurring problems and identify root cause and plan
    corrective actions
  • Track service bulletins, modifications and service letters incorporated and monitor for
    effectiveness.
  • Assist maintenance planning and technical records with task effectivity, hangar, tooling
    requirements, and major planning considerations.
  • Assist with lesser technical queries.
  • Assist purchasing and warranty with sourcing of tooling and equipment when necessary.
  • Work with Production and Engineering aid in development of in-house Engineering Orders to
    improve fleet reliability.
  • Participate with OEM and vendor working groups to ensure product improvement and bring
    Porter concerns to them for action.
  • Utilization of the Safety Management System [SMS] reporting program and adherence to the
    Safety Policy.
  • Participate in aircraft acceptance and delivery inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience maintaining aircraft in a Line or Heavy environment
  • Transport Canada issued AME M2 or E license
  • DHC-8-400 and/or E195-E2 Endorsement required
  • Valid passport and ability to travel
  • Able to obtain airside security clearance
  • Well organized, detail oriented and ability to work autonomously
  • Proven self-starter with good time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Knowledge of RAAS (Remote Access Aviation System) and AMOS an asset
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Ability to work nightshift if required
