We are looking for a talented Engine workshop technician to join our team at our Surrey, BC Cummins location.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components
- Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
- Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop
- Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor
Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Red seal in Commercial transport or Heavy duty equipment mechanic
- Class 1 Drivers License not required but considered an asset
- CVI Ticket not required but considered an asset
- Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Cummins diesel experience considered an asset
- Chassis repair experience
Unionized environnment and regulated by CBA.
