Description

Scope: Carries out Quality Assurance activities relating to the gauging system in the department to ensure that the customer's and the Company's quality targets are met. 

Skills and Qualifications

Education:Equivalent to Completion of Community College (2 Years) or Specialized Trade Courses

Experience: 5 years of previous experience working in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Performs gauge R&R studies and gauge calibration that meets the Company and customers' requirements.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on gauges while investigating opportunities for improving the gauge system.
  • Maintains all gauges in the manufacturing facility using gauge calibration software.
  • Ensures that all gauges are calibrated on time and available for production.
  • Conducts monthly inventory of gauges and monitors daily usage to determine gauge purchase requirements.
  • Places orders for additional gauges in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.
  • Monitors lab equipment to ensure that it is in working condition.
  • Publishes a calibration report to the quality supervisor every month.
  • Coordinates software updates for gauges in the manufacturing facility and sets up stations that require gauges for production.
  • Supports PPAP requirements for all customers, both internal and external.
  • Supports advanced product quality planning (APQP) for all new programs related to gauging.
  • Collecting and review certificates for each equipment from the suppliers.
  • Assists and trains personnel on lab equipment, including gauge usage and repair.
  • Responsible for maintaining the lab scope for the manufacturing location
