Area Manager
Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with employees in the production environment to listen, and drive structured problem solving.
- Leverage performance data with discipline. Develop strategic insights to predict early warning indicators, identify opportunities, make decisions, and deliver solutions.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and processes to global manufacturing standards.
- Achieving Business results by Leading the team to development and deliver improvement to of KPI's, and ensuring linkage from strategy to actions in BCC, PCC, DCC and ZCC's.
- Drive Continuous Improvement by eliminating internal roadblocks and providing the necessary resources to their teams to support problem resolution resulting in cost/quality improvement.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across functions/departments to drive innovation and deliver timely solutions and innovation.
- Lead transformation and change management efforts.
- Develop organizational capability through coaching and development of "Leaders as Teachers" at all levels of the organization.
- Aspiration of continued Career Growth.
Qualifications
Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience aligned with the technical aspects of the role.
Experience:
4+ years of progressive responsibilities and experience in operations leadership.
Extensive experience in high-volume, complex, manufacturing environments.
Experience successfully leading a manufacturing function and directly overseeing 50+ hourly/Salary employees.
Demonstrated track record of building trust and rapport with employees and stakeholders and creating positive and healthy cultures.
Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems.
Strong problem solver who can lead effectively under pressure and crisis manage when necessary.
Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership with outstanding interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in business or engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
Experience:
Lean / Six Sigma certification or demonstrated equivalent experience applying lean manufacturing principles and standardized work.
Demonstrated experience in one of the following areas: Engine Assembly or Machining.
Maintenance background preferred.
