Position: Vehicle Acquisition Specialist/ Buyer

We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team! You'll be responsible for analysing target vehicles for purchase and executing purchases based on their research. You'll take direction from the Territory Manager on day-to-day strategy and provide marketplace feedback and analysis of their day-to-day activity. As a Specialist, you'll be expected to perform in a high-risk environment by demonstrating an ability to make quick and informed decisions based on industry-specific data.

Your area of focus.

The role involves identifying and analyzing vehicle purchase opportunities through dealership appraisals, offsite auctions, and online platforms, making independent purchasing decisions based on thorough analysis. You will assess vehicle damage, monitor market trends in Canada and the USA, and make timely, financially sound decisions to meet purchasing and profit margin goals. Strong interpersonal skills, a client-focused approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential, along with attention to detail and financial acumen. Previous sales or wholesale vehicle experience and a valid driver's license are preferred, along with a government-issued Salesperson's permit.

What drives your day-to-day? 
 

  • Locate and analyze vehicle purchase opportunities from for the company through dealership appraisals, offsite auctions, or online venues
  • Appraise a targeted number of vehicles every day and execute on purchase decisions based on the analysis
  • Ability to independently assess vehicle damage and subsequent costs involved with the damage and make financially sound purchasing decisions
  • Monitor market trends in Canada and the USA and use this information to make purchase decisions
  • Make detailed financial decisions within strict timeframes
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and the ability to consistently deliver through achievement-oriented goal setting and focused execution
  • Maintain objectives in purchasing and gross profit margins as directed by the Territory Manager
  • Other duties as required

  • Position requires a valid driver's license.
  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and financial acumen.
  • Team player who is self-motivated and work independently as required.
  • Process-oriented with superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possession of, or in process of obtaining, a government issued Salespersons permit.
  • 1 - 3 years of sales or used vehicle wholesale experience an asset.
