Join Our Team as a Temporary Full-Time Associate Fleet Technician in Burnaby, BC! This contract is for a 12 month term.
Are you ready to be the face of support for BCAA members in need? As an Associate Fleet Technician at our Burnaby Road Assist Depot, you'll be among the first to provide a lifeline to our members. In this role, you'll deliver friendly and professional roadside assistance and towing services to members of BCAA and our affiliated clubs.

What you'll do
- In this role, you'll be supported through a customized training program, tailored to your experience. From basic assistance like battery boosts and tire changes, to sophisticated mechanical assistance like diagnostics and tow and recoveries, you'll gain crucial skills towards the next step as a Roadside Fleet Technician.
- Respond to our Members when they need minor mechanical assistance, service or towing.
- Assist in all weather conditions, ensuring a positive member experience throughout the assistance process.
- Promote BCAA memberships and general information about affiliate products and services.
- Report any issues and take the initiative to resolve them, seeking support as needed.
- Ensure BCAA vehicles, equipment, and tools are kept clean, orderly, and in good working condition.
- Uphold BCAA service and safety standards.
- Work rotational 24/7 shift work (including weekdays, evenings, weekends & statutory holidays). You will participate in an annual process to select shifts.
- Shifts are posted one month in advance for a one-month period. You will be eligible to participate in a shift pick process annually and pick from a pool of available vary shifts.
What you've done
- Completed your high school diploma or have relatable experience.
- At least 1-2 years of mechanical experience, preferably within automotive.
- You're a good driver with a clean BC Driver License Class 5. You're confident navigating our cities and towns, regardless of the vehicle size, from two-seaters to 5-ton trucks.
- Capable of safely lifting at least 70lbs during Member service, while prioritizing safety throughout the process.
- You're confident using technology (laptops, tablets and smartphones) and have strong English communication skills.
- A second language is an asset.

The hourly range for this position is $28.18 to $35.23 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
