Job description
The automotive Parts Clerk works in a fast-paced environment. His/her main role is to support technicians in finding and supplying the right parts to repair the shop's automobiles. This position involves the use of computerized automotive parts and service research systems, which includes repair order quotations, ordering, as well as controlling and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that the auto center team optimizes the customer experience by quickly sourcing, stocking and providing the right vehicle parts requested by customers or technicians;
- Estimate price and availability of parts and tires;
- Invoice parts on repair orders and ensure billing accuracy;
- Produce repair estimates in collaboration with technicians and technical advisors;
- Immediately inform the technical advisor of the receipt of parts in order to schedule an appointment with the customer;
- Procure and order automotive parts;
- Maintain and control inventory accuracy;
- Process parts returns, warranties and trade-ins as required;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience and/or training in the automotive field;
- Facility with computer systems;
- Detail-oriented, able to carry out tasks according to instructions and accountable for results;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, internal customer service-oriented environment.
