Job Description:

We are currently looking for Part-Time Yard Shifters for our Caledon Preload Operations 

Job Summary
UPS Yard Shifters perform the coupling and uncoupling of tractor trailers. This position moves and maneuvers tractor trailer equipment into position for the tractor trailer and package handling operations. This position may include other work as directed. 

Location:12424 Dixie Road, Caledon ON, L7C 2L7

Shifts Available: please specify which shift you are interested in when applying. Only selected candidates will be trained. 

Shift Position #1: Monday to Friday 00:00 - 04:00

Shift Position #2: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 11:00

Shift Position #3: Tuesday to Saturday 08:00 - 12:00

Shift Position #4: Tuesday to Saturday 08:00 - 12:00

Responsibilities:

Adhere to and follow company established safety rules and procedures.

Follow and execute company-established safe/defensive driving methods.

Drive with and reverse dollies, 28' trailers and 53' trailers (extensive training will be provided).

Prepares work zone with suitable equipment in accordance with current guidelines.
Assists with organizing specified set-up.
Checks the quantity and condition of delivery units.
Fills out documentation or records and validates information on the appropriate media.
Repositions vehicles according to the established dock plan.
Cleans work environment during or after operations.
Reports any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Valid G2 Driver's License

Clean Driver's Abstract

Availability to work Monday to Friday OR Tuesday to Saturday 

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment and staying longer than the usual shift hours depending on the operational needs and package shipment volume

Able to assist with extra weekend work occasionally.

Meets local age and operations requirements to operate a vehicle
High school diploma, GED, or International equivalent
2 years' experience driving vehicles - Preferred
