Material Flow Process Coach - Launch
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensuring proper material flow from receiving dock to warehouse storage location then to the production line feed location and to the delivery of finished product to the customers.
- Establish and define material handling processes and procedures for presentation to the line.
- Participate in Synchronous Material Flow planning team supporting lean manufacturing continuous improvement (decanted marketplace, small lot containerization, flexible linefeed, etc.).
- Work with production teams to improve workstation material delivery and presentation.
- Develop layout proposals for unique operations or line rebalances.
- Participate in what if studies, forecasting MH equipment requirements, floor space effect, material flow impact, and FPS/SMF system support.
- Participate with Pedestrian Safety Committee for improvement in safety and traffic flow.
- Initiate corrective actions to alleviate part quality concerns related to dunnage or handling.
- Review Material Handling manpower and operations to identify and implement efficiencies.
- Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow lean manufacturing practices.
- Assure all safety, launch, quality, delivery, cost, people, environment, production throughput, budgets, practices, objectives, etc. and improvements are met.
- Coach team on the use of standardized work practices.
- Lead and manage Cycle Checker, Returned Goods Clerk, Material Replenishment Clerk and Scrap Clerk.
- Coach hourly Team Leaders and Team Members to improve their capability.
- Coach third party dock provider management team.
- Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned. responsibilities / tasks.
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution.
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or College/Technical Diploma.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Capable of assigning work to third party provider and unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, or Packaging Engineering.(Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
- Working knowledge of part control systems including part analysis and shipping and receiving.
