Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

This role requires a highly motivated and analytical individual to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency within the Windsor Site. Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and deploy budgets to operating partners, collaborating on strategic roadmaps to achieve financial targets. This includes proactive identification and implementation of cost-saving initiatives leveraging Lean principles.
  • Operational Support & Problem Solving: Serve as the primary finance liaison for the operating team, addressing cost-related issues and providing financial expertise to support their success. This includes conducting daily floor walks to identify areas for improvement and presenting the Cost Operating System to operational employees.
  • Process Improvement & Technology: Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and implement new technologies to modernize the finance function. This includes researching and implementing innovative solutions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Act as the controller office lead for General Auditor's Office (GAO) audits, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting.
  • Supplier Management: Track supplier chargebacks, negotiate recovery, and manage supplier relationships to maximize cost savings and minimize financial risk.
  • Business Performance Monitoring: Actively participate in Business Control Center (BCC), Plant Control Center (PCC), and Department Control Center (DCC) reviews to analyze performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Effectively manage and complete ad-hoc business requests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Qualifications

Education:

Required:
 

  • Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Finance or Accounting. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).


Preferred:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.


Experience:

Required:
 

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well across multiple functions
  • Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Self-Starter and quick learner
  • Excel - Advanced Level


Preferred:
 

  • Manufacturing Experience
  • SAP, Power BI, Sharepoint and Alteryx.
