Job description

With over 40 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, Associated Ambulance is proud to be the second-largest ambulance operator in Alberta. Operating across twenty two locations in rural Alberta, we proudly provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services to communities in need. Additionally, we operate two dedicated interfacility transfer stations to support the medical system's transportation requirements.

Associated Ambulance is seeking a skilled, experienced, and motivated lead technician to join our team. This role is essential in overseeing daily shop operations and ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proactive problem-solving mindset to drive productivity and maintain quality control within the shop environment. 

We are aiming to fill this position by early February 2025 or at the earliest convenience of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Supervise shop personnel in conjunction with service writer to help assign appropriate job duties.
  • Oversee work orders for accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion.
  • Ensure quality control by reviewing equipment history, assisting technicians, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Ordering parts and supplies as needed.
  • Repair and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Monitor shop supply usage, minimize waste, and procure consumables as required.
  • Foster an inspiring team environment with open communication and collaboration.
  • Uphold and enforce all safety and quality standards to ensure a secure workplace.


Qualifications and Requirements:
 

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a mechanical or shop environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in reading and technology skills to manage shop documentation and systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety protocols and delivering high-quality results.
