Job Description
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient storage, movement, and distribution of materials for the assembly process. The role ensures that all activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations, contributing to seamless production.
What to expect as the Warehouse Supervisor:
• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and distributing automotive parts and materials.
• Ensure timely delivery of components to production lines to meet schedules.
• Oversee inventory management, including stock rotation, cycle counting, and tracking material usage to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff, including forklift operators and material handlers.
• Develop team schedules and ensure adequate staffing for production demands.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Enforce safety standards, including PPE use, safe handling of hazardous materials, and safe operation of equipment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in automotive manufacturing.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability of critical components while minimizing excess stock.
• Prepare and review inventory reports for management decision-making.
• Manage parts using barcode scanning systems, SAP, or other warehouse technologies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and best practices in warehouse management.
• Analyze KPIs and take corrective actions to improve warehouse efficiency.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse compliant with company housekeeping standards.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or material movement issues with Planners.
• Address employee concerns or conflicts and escalate when necessary.
Your Profile as the Warehouse Supervisor:
• A post-secondary diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse management experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or automotive unionized environment.
• Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) and warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) is preferred.
• Full-time, 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed. Must be flexible to work swing shifts and weekends as required.
• Ability to lift 25 kgs, and work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with exposure to various manufacturing conditions
