Description
The Commercial Vehicle Ambassador is present on the curb during all arriving flights. Greets and creates a welcoming atmosphere for our customers and clients. Provide active Official Languages offer to all guests ("Hello/Bonjour") and if response is in French, comply with Official Languages Protocol. They perform a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the parking facility, while delivering service that exceeds our customer/client's expectations. Depending on the needs of the location the Commercial Vehicle Ambassador provides customer service, including helping customers with entry/exit transactions, maintaining parking equipment in operating condition with receipt paper and free of jams, and troubleshoot and parking equipment that is malfunctioning. The Commercial Vehicle Ambassador works closely with fellow team members, Operations Manager, and/or Shift Supervisor to ensure that cleanliness as well as safety standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Must be flexible to work nights Monday-Sunday, Holidays and special events
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Act as traffic controller to direct incoming guests to available parking spaces
- Monitor the commercial curb for unauthorized vehicles, commercial or private
- Inspect authorized commercial vehicles for compliance with the Airport Authority's standards and expectations
- Consistently portrays professionalism, a welcoming demeanor, and uses his/her authority with discretion and when appropriate with commercial operators and private vehicle drivers
- Knowledgeable on all parking products and commercial vehicle operators
- Uses hardware and software to assess authorization, track and record authorized commercial vehicle audits, and proficiently assigns electronic vehicle transponders on-demand
- Actively monitors for and responds to unauthorized commercial vehicles, reporting to AOC as required. Operates a vehicle equipped with hardware and software to conduct an inventory of parking stall availability and license plates, and to actively monitor the lots, parkades and groundside roads meet the standards outlined in Appendix 5
- Responds to an AOC dispatch to parking equipment to release paper/card jams, replenish ticket stock, troubleshoot and report malfunctions, and perform user testing
- Execute Lot full procedures
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Lead.
- Additional duties may be assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 18 years of age
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement)
- Previous commercial driving experience, preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to verbally communicate with guests
- Operate commercial vehicles requiring normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot
- Enter and exit vehicle frequently throughout shift as well as sitting for extending periods of time
