Job description

The Repair Planner's primary responsibility and accountability includes providing an exceptional and successful customer experience while consistently completing accurate collision appraisals of the repair plan for insurance and customer vehicles. The Repair Planner plays a pivotal role in the success of the customer experience by ensuring each appraisal accurately outlines the required repairs and ensures a profitable and quality repair while working in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facilities KPIs.

Key Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Ensures consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Accurate diagnosis of the collision damage including structural and mechanical damage. Accurate diagnosis of refinishing operations. Communicates all customer requests and needs to appropriate team members.
  • Assigns body technician(s) to specific jobs as required.
  • Orders parts & arranges sublet repairs with vendors when required for each RO. Completes appraisals and supplements as required within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Ensures proper work flow throughout the collision center with the production supervisor. Communicates clearly the repair process, and addresses all questions to ensure client's confidence.
  • Maintains at least a 40% GP on all appraisals. Maintains a 50% Repair vs. Replace on all appraisals
  • Adheres to all required Insurance procedures, guidelines and programs. Utilizes daily insurance programs & tools (Progi/ APU/ ARMS/ Progi Sync).
  • Works with the production supervisor on any repair related concerns or supplements.
  • Communicates updates with customers and insurance claims adjusters as required. Communicates and negotiates with insurance claims appraisers and image desk staff
  • Ensures proper file documentation in Management Information Systems (MIS). Daily balancing and blueprinting of the appraisals in MIS for file closing. Manages all final quality inspections on each vehicle prior to delivery.


Education and/or Experience Required 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience of a collision repair estimating or a similar role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of estimating program Audatex, Mitchell
  • I-Car Registered (Gold Class) or I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification)•


Required Skills/Abilities 
 

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to interpret work scope from vehicle estimates or work orders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle repair practices
  • Customer Service Oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Provides positive energy when greeting customers in person and on the phone
  • Communicates directly with technician throughout the repairs

  • Effectively work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multi-tasking ability while working under pressure

Compensation Details

Salary:

$55,600 - $85,000/year

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
