Purpose of the job

The Vehicle Lead Technician shall provide field support for maintenance, repairs, and/or operation of vehicles for the ECLRT project. Working closely with the Supervisor will demonstrate leadership abilities in regard to Safety / Environment, Quality and Delivery. The position will provide assistance to the Shift Supervisor in the management of vehicle technicians in the repair and maintenance of the Eglinton LRT. The Lead Technician will ensure all information, equipment and parts are available and prepared, to ensure efficient execution.

Qualification and Functional Knowledge

LRT and proven leadership experience required.

Solid hands-on experience on electro-mechanical systems, 1+ years 

Knowledge of Technician Operation Standard

Effective communication / reporting both orally and in writing

Safety, attendance and HR status in good standing with no infractions

Key responsibilities
 

  • working closely with Shift Supervisor to periodically instruct the team/s on safety and job assignments
  • perform various maintenance activities on the vehicle as per EMM
  • perform corrective maintenance if failed parts or equipment, test, operation, and assist / train / mentor other technicians
  • report and record the incidents of electromechanical equipment/subsystem failures
  • report any damage or shortage of parts/tools to the logistic department to request replacement part or order spares and/or consumables, tools etc.
