Join Our Team as an Auto Body Estimator
As an Auto Body Estimator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and efficient repair processes. You'll be at the forefront of assessing vehicle damage, preparing precise estimates, and coordinating with our skilled teams to maintain our reputation for top-tier service and quality.
Essential Duties:
- Inspect vehicles to identify structural, mechanical, and cosmetic damage, including transit damage, lot damage, trade-ins, and other repair needs from sales, service, or parts departments
- Provide accurate, detailed estimates for labor, parts, materials, and painting using industry-standard software such as CCC, Audatex, or Mitchell
- Collaborate with technicians, parts, service, and sales teams to confirm parts availability, repair timelines, and smooth operations
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, estimates, and repairs in the internal database
- Stay updated on industry regulations, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications to ensure accurate and compliant repair estimates
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities in the repair process
- Verify that repair estimates align with company standards and industry regulations
- Assist customer service teams by explaining repair needs or delays when necessary
- Schedule and confirm repair timelines
- Track progress and ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders
- Communicate any changes in repair scope or time requirements
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in a body shop or automotive environment is preferred - Autobody Technician experience is an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong understanding of vehicle structures, mechanical knowledge, and insurance providers (MPI)
- Proven proficiency to operate or learn to operate computer softwares (Mitchell Comment, iCar, Google Drive)
- Excellent verbal and written skills (English)
- Highly organized and ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Highly-motivated, team player who strives to provide an excellent customer experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate both standard and manual transmissions
