The Regional Services Branch delivers department programs and services through an extensive network of field offices. These programs and services include forest management programs, Crown lands surveys, regional geological services, public outreach and education, planning and implementing Integrated Resource Management (IRM), hunter safety, forest fire prevention, detection and suppression, monitoring of forest insects and diseases, operation and maintenance of Provincial Parks, and resource conservation.
About Our Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Manager of Fleet Services, the Clerk 4 provides a broad range of administrative, financial, organizational and clerical support duties to the Manager and other DNR staff within the section.
Primary Accountabilities
- Oversee daily financial and procurement services for Fleet Services.
- Prepare and process payments and approvals of all invoices, departmental purchase orders, journal vouchers, P-Cards, Fuel Cards for the local Pool Vehicles and monitors/bills out bulk fuel tank usage charges to local users.
- Prepare payroll, reconciliation and assist the Area Manager in preparing accurate budget forecasting.
- Maintain local records within the Star/Store System format and help maintain Fleet inventory spreadsheets of Capital Purchases.
- Provide administrative support to the manager and Fleet staff as well as staff at the Carpentry Shop.
- Perform secretarial duties in the office, responding to inbound calls and providing general assistance to client reception.
Qualifications and Experience
Five years' related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
The following are required for the position:
- Must be proficient in office software with proven experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and web based applications.
- Must possess the ability to work within deadlines and with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
The following would be considered assets:
- Working in a computerized accounting environment
- Experience and extensive knowledge of the Corporate Financial Management System (SAP), Salary Analysis System (SAS), Star/Stor system, and Pathways.
- Knowledge of the Department financial processes and policies.
- Familiarity with Department programs, statutes, regulations and procedures.

Working Conditions

Pay Grade: CL 22
Salary Range: $1,934.21 - $2,139.34 Bi-Weekly
