What Does an Automotive Technician Do?

 

  • Maintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out the operations.


As an Automotive Technician, You Will:

 

  • Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants in compliance with Miller Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) polices and ensure contractual HSE obligation for the staff and public are met
  • Service company vehicles and equipment, including preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Repair light vehicles, heavy trucks and heavy equipment, including hydraulics, electrical and heavy power train
  • Torch and welding
  • Perform service calls and emergency on-road/off-site repairs
  • Daily completion of service documentation
  • Assist in decision making for any outside repairs to equipment
  • General shop maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned


What You'll Bring:

 

  • 310S Certification, 310T Certification, OR commitment to apprentice for a 310T certification with company financial assistance
  • Third or fourth-year Apprentices will be considered
  • Valid G license required
  • DZ license, an asset
  • Roadside service experience, an asset
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults and diagnostic software experience, an asset
  • Experience in repairing hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Must possess own set of tools
  • Willingness to learn and appreciate Miller values - safety, quality and integrity so we can continue 'Building Greatness'
  • Excellent team player, proven ability to work productively in a highly functional team
  • Flexibility and organizational skills to multi-task and manage time in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
  • Willingness to work weeknights, weekends and holidays, as required
