Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and inspect, detect faults and malfunctions, adjust and repair or replace defective parts, Test, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, on heavy equipment such as CAT 990 Loaders, Large off road trucks and pot carriers, cranes excavators and other large material handling equipment Service attachments and working tools. Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: College or classroom training and mechanic apprenticeship in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Coach, Farm Equipment
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician license is an asset
Work Experience: Must have six months to 2 years' experience in Heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Skills: Should have training or experience in Diesel fuel injection systems, Exhaust systems, Cooling systems, Electrical systems, Air conditioning systems, Lubrication systems, Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Power take-offs, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels, Differentials, Cable-operated working attachments, Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Winches, Compressors, Pumps, Electric generators, Engine control systems.
Nice to have: Experience and skills in Installation and alignment of engines and machinery
Preferred Qualifications: Experience maintaining and repairing heavy off road equipment in a steel mill, quarry, mine, oil sands, mineral processing or heavy industrial environment
Additional Information
Hourly rate: $44.81 per hour Heavy Equipment. $41.20 T&C, $40 Auto
Guaranteed raisesin 2024 and 2025 per collective agreement
OT paid after 40 hours. Mainly day shift. Some afternoons and weekends
