Job description

The role of the Lead Inventory Control Specialist role is to provide experience and expertise in performing and leading daily cycle counts, reviewing and trouble-shooting inventory transaction issues, and working closely with Manufacturing and Material Handling to correct issues. The successful candidate is highly competent in using the inventory systems, understands part consumption, and can analyze cycle count data prior to correcting / adjusting inventory. The Associate works cross-functionally with multiple teams to troubleshoot inventory inaccuracies while supporting corrective actions. The Lead Inventory Control Specialist will provide quick and effective coaching. In addition, the role demands data analysis and concise reporting KPI to Finance, and local management, with the primary goal of improving inventory accuracy. 

Responsibilities
 

  • Ensure timely completion of daily cycle counts for raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods
  • Release and approve daily counts, providing root cause analysis for all exceptions monitored by team
  • Provide accurate cycle count metrics to inventory control and financial leaders, meeting, or exceeding objectives and KPIs
  • Perform variance reconciliation, correction transactions, and identification inventory discrepancies
  • Investigate root causes and recommend improvements for high inventory accuracy
  • Monitor location aging reports, offering timely and accurate transaction feedback to the materials team
  • Provide coaching/training to new Inventory Control Specialists, identify and proactively correct racking/labelling discrepancies, and assist with general material handling and inventory control activities. Additionally, analyze and interpret data independently, providing root cause analysis and implementing short/long-term countermeasures


Requirements
 

  • Minimum 2 years of warehousing Inventory Control / Quality Assurance experience with demonstrated leadership skills and Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc.
  • Composure in critical situations and dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (part sorting, material moving, etc.) and operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklift, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to identifying data inaccuracies for an effective communication of issues and defects to management
  • Composure in critical situations and dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Strong detail-oriented, organizational, and data interpretation skills
  • Proficiency with technology tools, including personal computing hardware and standard software (Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.)
