The position involves:
- Controlling and directing company activities such as treasury, budgeting, auditing, purchasing, fixed assets and insurance;
- Supervise and direct the production of the annual report;
- Maintain close ties with the accounting firm to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and maintenance of the company's financial structure to maximize tax benefits;
- Prepare detailed monthly financial statements as directed by the directors and in accordance with the schedule and format required by the manufacturer;
- Regularly analyze financial statements and daily operating controls;
- Analyze general ledger and registered accounts and note any unusual entries;
- Review reconciliation of general ledger accounts with external resources to ensure accuracy of bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, accounts payable to builder and inventory financing;
- Ensure compliance with all government financial regulations, including forms to be completed or retained, commodity taxes and deposits, income taxes, pension plan records, etc;
- Ensure that all office personnel use proper accounting methods and maintain accurate records;
- Analyze and oversee the preparation of all data for public accountants to reduce audit or review costs;
- Constantly work to improve data accuracy and dissemination methods within the company;
- Coordinate the annual audit and physical inventory;
- Train and motivate the team under his/her responsibility and participate in their hiring in collaboration with his/her superior;
- Maintain company employee files;
- Prepare all documents required to meet the requirements of the Act respecting manpower training and development;
- Meet with managers and supervisors to determine training needs, draft the annual global plan and training calendar, and ensure follow-up;
- Ensure that all steps related to the pay equity process have been completed, if the dealership is subject to it;
- Compile payroll data from time registers and other sources;
- Verify and record salary changes and other relevant information;
- Calculate wages and deductions, prepare and issue pay cheques or direct deposits;
- Maintain leave records and prepare salary and deduction reports;
- Manage documentation related to hiring and termination, as well as insurance forms.
Requirements and profile:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position;
- Knowledge of Serti and similar systems;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Demonstrate leadership and professionalism;
- Ability to make decisions under pressure;
- Coaching and mentoring skills;
- Excellent planning and organizational skills;
- Proficiency in sales management software (Serti and Activix, an asset).
