Waste Connections of Canada is seeking a skilled 310T Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Hamilton Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing all major and minor truck systems to ensure the SAFE and efficient operation of our fleet.
Location: Waste Connections of Canada - 504 Rennie Street, Hamilton Ontario
Pay Rate: $43.78/hour for full 310T license
Monthly bonuses available: $300/month
Yearly tool allowance: $1200 (No receipts needed)
Yearly boot allowance: $400 before tax
Shift Time: Afternoons 2pm-12:30pm Tuesday-Friday + Saturday on call phone (on rotation)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and repair major and minor truck systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, drive line, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Adhere to all SAFETY standards laid out by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of environment as well as Waste Connections of Canada.
Qualifications:
- Valid 310T Heavy Duty Mechanic license.
- Proven Experience as a Heavy-Duty Truck mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a TEAM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must pass all prescreening for employment. (Criminal record check and drug test)
