J.D. Irving's Woodlands Division, is a leader in East Coast forestry and forest products industry known for its commitment to quality products, service, and sound environmental management is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our garage operations located in Deersdale, NB.

  • Day shift, Monday-Friday from 7am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

 

  • Work on large equipment such as road graders, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, log trucks and trailers
  • Troubleshooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with brakes, electrical, air, and hydraulic systems
  • Conduct inspections and repairs to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure prompt and efficient equipment mobilization
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Utilize work order system to maintain records
  • Work with supervisors on various tasks
  • Provide support for onsite safety requirements
  • Other garage-related activities as required


Qualifications

 

  • Red Seal Heavy Heavy Equipment Mechanic certification
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Service Technician
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills preferred
  • Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract are essential
  • Dedicated to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Overtime work may be required
