MAINTENANCE PLANNER - TERMINAL MAINTENANCE

The Opportunity
We are looking for an effective communicator with strong interpretation skills and an ability to consistently meet deadlines. Reporting to the Regional Manager of Terminal Maintenance, you establish and maintain a preventative and diagnostic maintenance program through the planning and organizing of high-quality maintenance services.
The Role
As Maintenance Planner, you perform the following duties:
- Planning work requests; estimating scope, costs, materials and resources; obtaining quotes, completing repair or corrective work orders and bills of materials; confirming availability and cost of parts and materials before releasing work orders; developing work instructions, material lists, tools and equipment requirements.
- Creating purchase requisitions and stock reservations for planned work; assisting in the final readiness of kitting and staging of job material requirements.
- Maintaining preventative maintenance and job plan records, including reviewing work order records and making recommendation.
- Ensuring the database is accurately updated by managing asset/location hierarchy, equipment identification, and naming conventions; maintaining parts lists, managing service request and work order processes adhering to defined workflow practices.
- Consulting with other departments; communicating work requirements; monitoring status of on-going jobs; prioritizing planning and scheduling activities; offering recommendations for improvement; ensuring asset reliability and performance.
- Providing orientation, guidance and informal training to other employees.
- Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.
What you bring to the team
You have a Red Seal Trade or Engineering Qualification with experience directly related to the planning function of department OR you have a Maintenance Management Professional Certification. In addition, you bring at least 2 years of recent experience in planning/scheduling directly related to a maintenance and/or construction environment OR at least 2 years of recent experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management System or equivalent. Furthermore, you have a high level of self-motivation, with the ability to work in high pressure situations both independently and within a team.
A valid BC Drivers License with a clean driving record is required. Travel may be required.
