We are currently looking for a Corporate Fleet Manager to join our team & cover a long term leave of absence for a team member. The candidate oversees the fleet operations across Canada and the US, managing costs while maintaining efficiency and response times. This role handles the entire lifecycle of fleet assets, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and serves as the primary liaison with vehicle suppliers, supporting plants, bogs, and depots.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and ensure smooth fleet operations and maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all fleet services.
  • Develop, implement, and manage fleet policies, and oversee the execution of preventive maintenance programs for the fleet.
  • Manage and report on fleet performance metrics, including lifecycle management and fuel efficiency and consumption.
  • Conduct research to optimize fleet operations, developing cost-effective, environmentally conscious solutions, and vehicle lifecycle strategies.
  • Negotiate and execute national contracts with fleet related vendors.
  • Provide requested quotes for rolling stock assets.
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining current driver records and vehicle maintenance documentation.
  • Provide on-call support for after-hours fleet needs as required.
  • Track and analyze fleet usage, utilization, and equipment performance for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements effectively for maximum efficiency.
  • Analyze maintenance and repair costs, offering expert recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate in developing and managing the fleet maintenance budget.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
The candidate is a seasoned Fleet Manager with at least 5 years of experience, strong ERP and vendor management expertise, and proficiency in MS Office. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, problem-solving, and customer focus, excelling in communication, interpersonal skills, and time management in fast-paced environments. Basic accounting knowledge and the ability to multitask effectively are essential.
