LKQ Canada is looking for an Automotive Yard Manager to join its team!

LKQ Canada is looking for a dedicated and passionate Automotive Yard Manager to oversee the work of others by planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing tasks to ensure quality standards are met. Responsible for staff management, including hiring, termination, training, development, performance evaluation, and administering corrective actions as needed.

What are your responsibilities as an Automotive Yard Manager?
 

  • Oversee yard operations personnel,
  • Responsible for opening the site each morning,
  • Responsible for making sure the site is accessible for the start of production,
  • Unload haulers and stage cars for the inventory department to inventory,
  • Support dismantling by bringing unprocessed cars to dismantle and place vehicles back in the yard,
  • Support the cuts bay, contribute to and manage the overall cleanliness of the yard,
  • Maintain Inventory locations and integrity of vehicles placed in the yard,
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the yard,
  • Load scrap haulers with crushed cars that are ready for final disposal,
  • Conduct cycle counts to ensure compliance of location,
  • Assuming other duties as assigned.


What is the profile we are looking for?
 

  • Diploma or other post-secondary education in a field related to management or automotive.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of management/supervisor role within the manufacturing, distribution, or auto salvage industries.
  • Previous heavy equipment operating, strong computer skills, general maintenance and understanding of mechanical equipment.
  • Understanding of an inventory system to maintain the vehicle inventory in the yard.


Job Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: General knowledge and ability to perform relatively simple work using basic arithmetic. Must be able to recognize bin number locations. Must be familiar with the company's products and warehouse methods. Must be able to work with others.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, sit, lift, bend up to 75% of the time, The successful candidate must occasionally lift and/or move weight up to 75lbs, The successful candidate is required to operate equipment such as loaders, The successful candidate must be comfortable in a plant, yard and warehouse environment. The noise and temperature levels can vary dependent on location.

Working Conditions: Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to cold & heat. The noise level is moderately loud.
