Reports To: Production Manager
Job Summary:

The Auto Assembly Line Supervisor is a dynamic leadership role within the production team, responsible for overseeing a team of production associates to ensure vehicles are reconditioned to company standards. This position requires strong leadership skills and subject matter expertise in automotive reconditioning, including mechanical repairs, cosmetic restoration, functional checks, and basic automotive knowledge, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs. They will supervise and guide a team of technicians, ensuring smooth workflow, adherence to production goals, and the maintenance of high-quality standards. This role demands a commitment to efficiency, quality, safety, and the ability to step in and assist technicians as needed to resolve challenges on the production line.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
 

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of production associates to ensure smooth operations and the achievement of production goals.
  • Ensure that all team members meet production targets while adhering to standardized work practices.
  • Provide continuous guidance, support, and feedback to enhance team performance, morale, and skill development.
  • Ensure the team has the necessary tools and equipment to complete their tasks efficiently.
  • Step onto the production line as needed to provide hands-on support and address any challenges that arise.

Subject Matter Expertise in Vehicle Reconditioning:
 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on internal vehicle reconditioning processes, including mechanical repairs, cosmetic restoration, and functional checks.
  • Oversee the execution of mechanical repairs, cosmetic restoration, and feature enhancements to ensure adherence to company quality standards.

Production and Workflow Management:
 

  • Organize and manage the reconditioning workflow to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Allocate resources and manage team assignments to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to adjust staffing and workflows to meet production demands and timelines.

Quality Control and Compliance:
 

  • Ensure vehicles meet company standards through continuous inspections at each stage of the reconditioning process.
  • Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in the workplace.
  • Address and resolve quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Training and Development:
 

  • Provide continuous training and development opportunities for the team to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay current on the standardized work provided.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, ensuring best practices are followed.

Communication and Reporting:
 

  • Maintain regular communication with the Production Manager regarding team performance, production status, and any challenges.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports on production metrics, quality control outcomes, and operational challenges.
  • Foster a collaborative communication environment within the team, encouraging feedback and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications:
Education:
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in automotive reconditioning or quality control is a plus.

License:
 

  • Minimum of a G2 Driver's License (valid in Ontario).

Driving Record:
 

  • Clean driver's abstract with no major infractions.

Background Check:
 

  • Clean criminal background check.

Work Authorization:
 

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Location:
 

  • Must be able to commute to Mississauga, Ontario.

Availability:

Minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed.

Automotive Knowledge (Must-Have):
 

  • Basic automotive knowledge is required, including tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and general vehicle maintenance.
    Ability to step in and assist technicians with hands-on tasks and resolve any challenges related to these basic automotive functions on the production line.
