Job description

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management regarding profitability, cost management, and financial trends.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing the dealership's annual budget and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budget and identify variances, recommending corrective actions when needed.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments to vendors and collections from customers. Resolve discrepancies and ensure the integrity of financial records.
Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls and processes to safeguard dealership assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Regularly assess internal control effectiveness.
Compliance and Taxation: Ensure the dealership complies with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, including tax laws. Prepare tax returns and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
Inventory Management: Oversee the financial aspects of vehicle inventory, including the valuation, cost tracking, and reconciliation of vehicle inventory records.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor the dealership's cash flow, ensuring there is adequate liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations. Manage and optimize credit lines and financing options.
Staff Supervision: Supervise the accounting department team, providing guidance, training, and support. Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, monthly, and yearly financial tasks.
Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide management with regular reports and insights into financial performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue, expenses, and profitability.
Process Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve financial processes, streamline operations, and reduce costs.
Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or similar certification is a plus.
Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance in the automotive or dealership industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Proficient in financial software (e.g., Dealer Management Systems, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial management.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
Knowledge of automotive dealership operations, including vehicle sales, service, and parts, is highly desirable.
