Job description

Field Lube Technician

O'Hanlon Paving, a proud member of The Fath Group, has been a key player in the Edmonton, road construction industry for over 65 years. We are currently looking for an experienced and safety conscious Field Lube Technician to work in a year-round capacity in and around the City of Edmonton.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities;
• Safely lubricate and service light-duty and heavy-duty equipment as required and directed;
• Complete equipment inspections, report repairs required and assist in scheduling these repairs;
• Operate the lube/ service truck safely and efficiently and work in our southside shop as required;
• Assist in maintaining inventory of service kits, lubes, oils and other supplies,
• Perform regular oil changes based on our electronic work order system and Preventative Maintenance program;
• Coordinate equipment service activities efficiently and effectively;
• Support Journeyman Mechanics with unplanned breakdowns and repairs of heavy equipment;
• Complete maintenance records and documentation as required;
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members;
• Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures;
• Receive and fulfill all request for lube service in the field.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in construction or oil and gas industry will be preferred.
• Minimum High School education or equivalent is required.
• Some knowledge of the municipal road building industry is required.
• Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure is required.
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and a clean drivers abstract. Air brake endorsement will be an asset.
• High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, independently and for extended hours and on week-ends is required.
• Valid safety certifications and first Aid will be required on sites.
