Quality Engineer Day Shift - 8AM-5PM (M-F)

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer on Day Shift based out of our Waterloo, Ontario (UMW) location. 

Summary of Main Duties & Responsibilities
 

  • Ensure customer satisfaction for quality related items, and address any quality issues during pre- and post-launch, including reviewing ECN's.
  • Support and participate in the APQP process, activities and trials to ensure feasibility of the design and process to produce the product as specified.
  • Responsible for preparing PPAP and determining customer requirements on assigned programs, and communicating requirements and standards within the organization including recommending course of action for customer quality issues.
  • Coordinate and participate in dimensional evaluation of parts using appropriate gauges and fixtures including SPC studies. Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated prior to use. Promptly report any items that are found to be out of calibration and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and participate in Gauge Accuracy, Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies.
  • Perform process capability and process performance (KCC) studies and data collection. Report results on the appropriate statistical charts.
  • Train operators and cell leaders to perform in-process inspections. Participate in operator and cell leader training.
  • Monitor process, product, and quality system performance in accordance with the applicable product standard and procedures.
  • Responsible for preparing to completion of all PSO functions on assigned programs.
  • Responsible for the analyzing, documenting and responding to customer warranty issues.


Our Ideal Candidate:
 

  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline or CQE.
  • Two years' experience in related quality position.
  • Minimum 3 years automotive experience in the Quality field.
  • Experience in problem solving techniques, Quality Systems, APQP, Statistical Methods, Control Plans and PPAP's.
  • Able to travel domestic and international (i.e., has valid passport and drivers' license)
  • Flexible to work overtime and/or on weekends.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Leadership, organizational and skills.
  • Injection molding and assembly processes.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Project Management techniques.
