The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads the coordination and co-operation of all organizations involved in emergencies and disasters. This includes emergency and disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. 

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) is accountable and responsible to the GoA, to Albertans, to their communities, and to industry for the protection of people, their property, and the environment from the effects of emergency events. Alberta relies on a decentralized "system" for managing the various types of emergency events that occur every year. The AEMA accomplishes its objectives by leading the co-ordination, collaboration and co-operation between all entities involved in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery activities within this diverse system.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Logistics Readiness, the Fleet and Facilities Coordinator oversees the management and maintenance of the organization's facilities and fleet operations. This position ensures that all facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to productivity, while also optimizing the performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness of fleet vehicles. The Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing maintenance programs, and developing strategies for continuous improvement. By effectively managing physical and logistical resources, this role supports the organization's goals and enhances overall performance.

Qualifications

Required: University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related, no experience required or equivalent as described

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

For Example: 
Related 1 year certificate PLUS a minimum 3 years of experience
Related 2-year diploma PLUS a minimum 2 years of experience
Related minimum 4 years of experience Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification. 

The successful candidate MUST also have: 
Ability to create, recommend and implement strategic action plans
Financial reporting knowledge and experience i.e. Budgeting, cost analysis 
Knowledge and understanding of technology solutions for fleet and facility management
Demonstrated understanding of project management practices

Assets: 
Contract negotiation
Experience with stakeholder engagement
Certifications such as CAFM, CAFS, NAFA, FMP, CFM, IFMA
PMP certification
