Apprentice Automotive Service Technician

Hawkesbury, Ontario

Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is a ground support equipment distributor and manufacturer, serving the Commercial and Military Aviation Industry. We are seeking a hands-on Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to perform inspection and modification of new equipment. 

AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms, on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes an excellent line card of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users.

What you will do:
 

  • Perform inspection and modification BYD lithium electric baggage tractors.
  • Modify BYD Tractors and perform wiring, installation of hardware, removing doors and replacing tires.
  • Inspect motor, test automotive systems and components.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to specifications.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units using hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate professionalism while communicating with customers and provide clear information when troubleshooting equipment.
  • Complete training objectives as assigned by management.


What you will need:
 

  • 310S Apprentice in 2nd year preferred.
  • Prior experience in Ground Support Equipment is considered an asset.
  • Mechanical and electrical background required.
  • Ability to use repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics (electrical and hydraulic) for troubleshooting and component rebuilding.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Ontario with a valid Passport.
  • Tools will be provided.
  • Steel-toe boots required. AGEC will offer reimbursement up to $300 CAD.
  • Ability to obtain transportation security clearance through Transport Canada.
