Reporting directly to the Field Service Supervisor, the Gas Compression Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar Gas and Diesel engines in the shop and field environments.

Job Description:
 

  • Trouble shooting Caterpillar equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required


Qualifications:
 

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Completion, or in process of completing, Finning S-level courses
  • WHMIS certification with previous Caterpillar repair experience
  • Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with customers
  • 5-year drivers abstract is required


Assets:
 

  • Experience in the Gas Compression Industry
  • Working on Caterpillar gas engines and compressors
  • Previous field service experience


Note:
 

  • This position operates on a 5x2 schedule, based out of our Red Deer facility
  • Out of town work occasionally required
  • Shift work may be required
  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
