Toromont Cat is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician - Leadhand to join our team! As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components in our shop. Your day will include planning, trouble shooting and repairing, as well as, preparing necessary service reports for customers. We are looking for people who are interested in diverse product range. In a typical day, YOU will:
- Oversee tech's assigned to them, acting as intermediaries between employees and supervisors.
- Coordinate tasks, guide team members in daily activities, and address issues as they arise.
- Track parts, materials, tool, and inventory needs.
- Monitor work flow, identify tool requirements, and communicate findings to supervisors.
- Accountable for their team's ability to meet productivity goals set by supervisors.
- Assist employees facing with diagnosing challenges and identify parts conflicts etc.
- Mentor, Train and coach team members to meet and exceed customer and business expectations
- Work with supervisor to identify team member needs for training
- Distribute work loads in the shop in accordance with identified skill sets
- Ensure the safety and well being of team members in the shop.
Must-haves for this role:
- Minimum 5-10 years of working experience as a Technician
- Minimum post-secondary education
- A valid Technician 421A Heavy Equipment Technician License relative to this position
