POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for the supervision, coordination and performance of the Technical Service Specialists (TSS) and Customer Service Engineer/Technologist (CSET). Personally, and through the TSS & CSET, ensures timely and effective resolution of the Customer Service technical issues. Become main contact for New Flyer Regional Product Support Managers (RPSM) and Technical Services Managers (TSM), Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for the TSS/CSET performance and key metrics; and Responsible for people management, performance, hiring, coaching/mentoring and training of the Technical Services Team.
- Assigns Incident / FSAR / ITS / Work Order responsibilities and balances workload of the TSS/CSET and the Technical Support Reliability Specialists (TSRS) to meet departmental objectives.
- Supports the TSM Manager in monitoring and reporting project status.
- Participates with the TSM in management of priorities for Customer Service issues.
- Checks, and / or approves TSS/CSET work and other documents as authorized.
- Assists the Supplier Warranty Recovery group in determining responsibility for supplier quality issues and provides support for cost recovery.
- Attends cross functional business meetings on behalf of the Technical Services section.
- Mentors, and coordinates training for the TSS/CSET.
- Administers the Employee Performance program amongst TSS/CSET.
- Drives Continuous Improvement surrounding TSS/CSET contributions to the Customer Service Issue Resolution processes.
- Establishes effective communication, cooperation, and information flow with cross functional groups
- Complete special assignments as required.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Engineering background (PENG, CET, EIT).
- Lead and/or Supervision experience.
- Highly Technical.
- Mechanical background.
- Customer Service background.
- Leadership qualities.
- High Problem Solving skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High organizational skills, motivating, self-starter.
- CAN data logger.
- Travel up to 5%
