Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

The successful candidate will be part of a team of engineers responsible for ensuring quality through comprehensive testing of new diagnostic software solutions for high performance compute platforms and sensors, including LiDARs, radars, cameras. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to quickly deliver high quality, production level code that is core to the diagnostics of autonomous and active safety systems. What You'll Do
 

  • Collaborate with the Diagnostic QA representatives of the Product Scrums to develop comprehensive automated test plans aligned to software specifications
  • Champion the Diagnostic QA automation pipeline implementation and maintenance
  • Oversee execution quality of test plans using the automation framework to ensure they are on time to release milestones.
  • Report bugs and defects identified to the supported Product Scrums
  • Be the point of contact for automation activities and capabilities in the Diagnostic QA Community of Practice
  • Share domain knowledge and support with the Diagnostic QA Community of Practice
  • Support automation of the new testing techniques and test cases rolled out through the Community of Practice
  • Develop automated tests for SIL and bench environments
  • Participate in software and requirement reviews enabling testable software products
  • Participate in test plan reviews and contribute to the team's testing strategy
  • Generate test reports and present results to Diagnostic QA Community of Practice, software and requirements teams
  • Assist with documenting standards and best practices for consumption by product development teams
  • Assist with manual testing responsibilities, such as regression and feature testing as well as ad-hoc testing, when tests cannot be automated


Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design) or equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience developing and executing test cases in various environments
  • Experience with test automation and continuous integration tools
  • Experience with multiple programming languages Python and C/C++
  • Experience in development on Windows/Linux platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as working effectively with autonomy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with GM engineers globally
  • Passing score on technical coding assessment
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be able to travel to the US


What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
 

  • A valid Canadian driver's license
  • Hands-on test automation development expertise with in-depth knowledge of multiple open-source off-the-shelf tools for test automation.
  • Knowledge of ADAS system (eg: Surround view cameras, Driver monitor system camera, IR emitter, radars, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, etc)
  • Experience of using and development on open-source automation framework such as Robot
  • Experience with additional programming languages such as Java, Rust, Groovy, Simulink, etc.
  • Experience with testing in vehicles and simulated environments
  • Experience with automotive test tools (INCA, CANoe, VehicleSpy, ControlDesk, Applied Intuition)
  • Experience with Git/GitHub, Gerrit, Bit Bucket, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins
  • General knowledge of automotive systems (Powertrain, Chassis, Adaptive AUTOSAR, Ethernet/CAN/LIN communication)
  • Experience with functional safety and ISO 26262
  • Experience with unified diagnostic services and ISO14229
