Hybrid: - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite three (3) days a week to the Oshawa office of General Motors of Canada Company.

The National Marketing Communications Manager supports the BUICK GMC Canada Marketing team by developing and executing strong, insights and data based communication solutions for the Canadian Market. The key focus of the role is the development of go-to-market communication plans across the entire brand portfolio including new product launches and sustain campaigns for both brand and retail. 

This role collaborates with the US communications teams and our agency partners to execute across multiple communication touch points including, but not limited to, Broadcast, experiential, digital and social platforms. In addition, this role manages all Buick & GMC Sponsorships and shared management of Auto Shows execution. The National Marketing Communications Manager also oversees the brand's efforts to increase awareness, build brand equity and collaborate across the organization to drive business objectives and execute long term strategies.

Job Duties
 

  • Responsible for developing and implementing new and effective marketing strategies to drive engagement, conversion and brand equity
  • Establish the annual marketing communications objectives Canada (leveraging U.S. and unique to Canada assets and platforms)
  • Develop & manage brand/retail communication budget (production & media), including calendar year forecast / outlook and approver for all brand related costs
  • Develop communications messages based on critical product attributes and market trends to provide foundation for consumer messages.
  • Responsible for CAOR agency scope for Canada

Qualifications
 

  • Understanding of brand positioning, digital marketing, media planning/buying and social platforms
  • Overall understanding of regional consumer behavior and trends
  • Ability to effectively manage the budget process
  • Robust understanding of Marketing & Sales process at an Automotive OEM or related field
  • Brand & Media awareness - a clear understanding of brand metrics, media buying and marketing mix
  • Automotive experience preferred, or at a minimum, experience in large, corporate categories (ie. Telecommunications, Banking, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of Tier 2 retailers


Experience/Education
 

  • University degree (business/marketing/advertising)
  • 7 to 10 years of integrated Marketing and/or Advertising experience in a corporate or advertising agency or combined environment
  • Minimum two to five years leading direct reports and or agency partners
