The Opportunity:

As an Automotive Service Technician, you are responsible for the repair, maintenance, and testing of automotive equipment. This position will employ your preventative maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills to prevent breakdowns and diagnose and repair automotive equipment.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform all types of repairs and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment
• Requisition parts, materials, and equipment as needed
• Check and diagnose mechanical faults of incoming vehicles or related equipment
• Complete and sign fleet logs, work orders, serviceability records, etc.
• Provide training and assistance to apprentices in unit
• Maintain order, cleanliness, work output, and safe working conditions in own work area
• Perform CVIP inspections

You Bring:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certificate of Proficiency as an Automotive Service Technician (Red Seal)
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence 
• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence with Q endorsement would be an asset
• Alberta CVIP license
• Experience with turf care equipment, diesel engine experience, and small engines
• Experience with automotive diagnostic tools
• Experience with Forklift, Trailers, and vehicle recovery
• Basic computer skills
• Passion for mechanical equipment 
• Eye for detail and accuracy 
• Adapt well in an ever-changing environment, working best in a team atmosphere 
• Above average communication and interpersonal skills, with exemplary customer service skills

Additional Information:

This position entails a 40 hour work week, and involves skilled journeyman shop, bench, and field production work. The successful candidate will be required to provide their own complete set of hand tools.
