The Opportunity
We are looking for Summer Vacation Replacements (Summer Students) to join our Oshawa OEM Operations (CCA) team!
As part of the Oshawa OEM Operations (CCA) team, you will be scheduled on a temporary basis providing summer vacation coverage to safely perform production assignments in our fast-paced warehousing environment. You are a motivated and self-disciplined team player who shares our core values: Customers, Relationships, Excellence, Seek Truth, and you are able to function safely in our CCA team environment.
NOTE: Only students who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary educational institution are eligible for consideration. Proof of enrollment/registration is required.

Please read the following requirements for the SVR (Summer Student) position to ensure you are prepared to meet these expectations.
- Ability to work on a temporary full-time basis providing summer vacation coverage.
- Must be available to work any/all shifts to support the CCA production schedule.
- Saturday shifts and other overtime may be required.
- Report for work on-time for all scheduled shifts to support CCA production startup, throughput, and quality goals.
- An exemplary level of safety awareness and compliance. Understand, support and execute all work in safe manner and comply with a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.
- Demonstrate professional and respectful behaviour. We have an inclusive workplace.
- Ability to read, interpret and adhere to documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, work instructions, procedure manuals, and policies.
Physical Demands of the Job:
- Perform bench, floor or conveyor assembly work, usually of short cycle duration, and involving standardized work elements.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written work instructions. Physical labour is required to perform various production assignments.
- Work may involve using hand positioning, assist devices such as hoists, and power tools or other equipment.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand for up to 8-hours a day.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform and meet job requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, work instructions, procedure manuals, and policies.
Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include a comprehensive assessment and background check.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution.
- Knowledge of safety awareness, quality, and compliance.
Proof of Enrolment is required:
For a proof of enrolment document to be valid, it must be issued from the institution and contain all of the below:
- Full name of student.
- School name (letterhead, school logo or website address).
- Academic term and year enrolled / start and (expected) end date of the course.
- Date issued.
- Program of study.
Examples of valid documents, either is acceptable:
- Enrolment letter.
- Timetable or course schedule.
