This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. The incumbent manages the travel and fleet coordinators and/or supervisors that arrange all Corporate, General Authority, and Missionary travel, and those who manage the vehicles fleet. The manager is also the primary resource for experience and training in booking tickets, fares, tariffs and routings and for securing passports and visas for all travelers. This is a key decision-making position responsible for the expenditure of millions of dollars in corporate, missionary or General Authority travel costs. The incumbent plays a key role in understanding and managing government regulatory complexities and ensuring travelers travel with and maintain a legal status. Will handle sensitive problems and interface with key department and management at all levels in the Church. This is a key position that provides management and oversight of all Fleet Services in a complex geographical area. In some cases, it may require supervision of other employees and/or missionaries, in other cases it may require supervision of Fleet processes. This position oversees fleet planning, vehicle purchases, certifying drivers, maintenance, repairs and selling vehicles. This position also ensures that fleet policies are appropriately followed, appropriate work quality is accomplished, and that global fleet performance metrics are achieved. Success is evident when the incumbent's staff is able to ensure that travelers arrive safely and timely to their destinations at the lowest possible fares as measure through various quality assurance and performance indicators and customer feedback. The travel manager will lead their teams to achieve key operational and service metrics.

Responsibilities

 

  • 25% -Manage and train travel supervisors and agents through effective communication, team meetings, individual coaching and group training. Support and train Area Office personnel. Manage other fleet personnel, including Fleet Coordinators and Fleet Admin Assistants as needed
  • 20% - Ensure that Church travelers are compliant with current requirements to maintain legal status and assist in government relations efforts. Solve problems, manage, crises, and answer questions through effective communication and problem-solving techniques with vendors, government agencies, and clients (General Authorities, Mission Presidents, missionary parents, employees, etc.)
  • 15% - Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure the Church obtains the best services, pricing and complies with accounting policies and procedures. Review, analyze and create action plans to improve productivity, quality, and service programs.
  • 10% - Coordinate travel issue with other travel offices and affiliated companies and train office travel coordinators through constant communication, process reviews and periodic training visits. Address urgent issues when emergencies take place, such as stranded travelers, lost luggage, etc., during and after core work hours.
  • 10% - Oversee and train Mission Fleet Coordinators in all fleet related processes.
  • 10% - Manage and oversee all aspects of fleet services, including exceptional customer service.
  • 5% - Promote the usage of global vehicle contracts and promote the establishment and usage of local contracts.
  • 5% - Ensure compliance to vehicle registration and legal requirements of the government within the jurisdiction.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Automotive Technology, Travel and Tourism, or other related degree, plus 6 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience to include a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Exceptional public relations, managerial and organization skills
  • Ability to take responsibility in Church controllership environment
  • Must be able to travel as required; must be able to work in a high stress environment
  • Bilingual skills in French and English preferred.


Additional Employment Criteria:
1. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
2. Must be able to reside in Toronto, Canada, while employed in this role
